School Library

We are very lucky at Whitchurch C E Primary School to have our own librarian.  Mrs Clarke is very knowledgeable about children’s literature and is able to recommend books to children and parents.  Every year group has a session in the library once a week where Mrs Clarke will read to the children and then help them choose a book to take home.

Every child has at least one library book and once they have completed the school reading scheme they choose a second book.  Children who have completed the reading scheme are encouraged to change their library books whenever they are ready.  Early readers change their books during their weekly library session only.

Parents are asked to help their child remember to bring their library book back on library changing day. Children are asked to respect their library books and remember that another person will want to read the book after them.   

Mrs Clarke has created a list of recommended reads for each year group. All of these books are available to borrow or reserve from the school library. You can visit our school library website to browse the catalogue and reserve books, click here to access the site.

We also have a dedicated eLibrary, you can access by downloading the Sora app and enter the setup code hampshiresls, then select Whitchurch CE from the drop-down box.. The Sora app is available through the Google Play and Apple App stores.
